Life & Work with Riley
Sometimes, it’s easy to get so caught up in the day-to-day of running a small business that you forget to stop and look at just how far you’ve come.
Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to sit down for a remote interview with Voyage Dallas and share a little bit about my journey as an artist, photographer, and the heart behind Higher RES Visuals.
Being interviewed about my work gave me a chance to reflect on so many pieces of my story—from discovering photography while studying Fine Arts, to building a photography business while working full-time as an art teacher, to eventually taking the leap into photography full-time.
But more than anything, I loved getting to talk about why I do what I do.
Photography has become so much more than creating pretty pictures for me. It’s about helping people see themselves differently. It’s about creating a space where women can feel comfortable, celebrated, empowered, and truly seen. I believe every person is beautifully and wonderfully made, and it is one of the greatest privileges of my work to help someone recognize that in themselves.
I’m incredibly grateful to the team at Voyage Dallas for giving me the opportunity to share my story and for taking the time to learn about the heart behind Higher RES Visuals. It’s an honor to have my work and journey featured alongside so many other creatives and entrepreneurs who are making an impact in their communities.
